Frequently Asked Questions
-
The short answer is no. Paramedical services typically don't require a doctor's referral anymore. However, some insurance companies may still require a referral, so we recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm your policy details.
*Exception: Custom orthotics generally require a prescription in order to be reimbursed by your insurer.

It varies a bit depending on the season, but you can typically get an appointment with most of our providers within one week. Take a look at their schedules here!
-
Prior to your first appointment, it can be helpful to consider some of the following:
Fill out your online intake forms - these will be sent to you via our online system to your email account. We ask that you complete them at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment so that we can review the information you provide.
Your medical history - including past injuries, surgeries, chronic conditions, medications or treatments
Identify your symptoms - specific symptoms/issues, when they started, what triggers them, what helps relieve them
Goals - thinking about what specifically a good outcome would look like or feel like for you! This will help us tailor your treatments specifically for your needs and desired outcome
Prepare questions - we want to make sure you feel informed and empowered in your body and plan. Write down any questions or concerns you have so that we can address them at your appointment.
Consider your lifestyle - It’s important and helpful for us to get a sense of your daily habits, including work routines, exercise, diet, and sleep patterns. There’s no judgment here but this information is critical to helping you thrive!
-
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that you can move in and that gives access to the area being treated (e.g. shorts for knee issue or tank top for shoulder issue).
Massage Therapy: You may undress to your level of comfort. You can be fully clothed if that is your preference!
-
We do not offer direct billing to insurance providers at this time. The receipt you will receive after your visit includes everything your insurance provider needs to process a claim, and most plans allow you to submit quickly through their online portal or app. Reimbursement is typically deposited directly to your account shortly after submission.
-

Getting Started
-
If you’re not sure where to start, that’s completely normal. Many people aren’t sure whether chiropractic, physiotherapy, massage therapy, or acupuncture is the right fit.
As a general guide:
Chiropractic is often a good starting point for joint and spine-related pain (e.g. rib pain, low back pain, neck pain, etc.). Our chiropractors can fully assess your condition in detail and make the appropriate recommendations.
Physiotherapy is a strong choice if you're recovering from an injury, surgery, or dealing with a movement-related issue (e.g. sports injuries, post-surgical rehab, mobility limitations), since our physiotherapists focus on restoring function and building a plan to get you back to full activity.
Massage therapy is deeply therapeutic, ranging from relaxation-focused techniques to deep tissue release for chronic tension and tightness, and can also be used alongside chiropractic or physiotherapy to support your recovery.
Acupuncture and dry needling help stimulate blood flow to the treated area, supporting the body's natural healing capabilities, and is often used for pain management and to complement other treatments as part of a broader care plan.
If you're still not sure, give us a call or send us a message. Our team is happy to help point you toward the right service, or combination of services, for your needs.

Our initial consultations are typically around 30-60 min long, depending on your provider, to ensure ample time to get to know you and your needs. Following the initial consultation, your provider will discuss what treatments will best suit your needs. These sessions typically run between 15-60 minutes in length.
-
This is something that’s highly specific on your current condition and individual goals. Some clients will benefit from more regular, weekly treatments initially while others will be successful checking in once or twice a month. Frequency of treatments is something that we will discuss directly with you at your first appointment so that you feel clear and aligned on your plan moving forward.
-
Great question! The timeline for seeing changes depends on several factors, including the nature of your condition, how long you've been dealing with it, your overall health, and how your body responds to treatment. Some patients experience relief after just a few sessions, while others might take longer, especially if the issue is chronic or complex.
In general, you might notice some changes within the first 4-6 sessions, but significant improvement can take a few weeks to a few months, depending on your goals and the treatment plan. This is certainly something that is highly individual but we will address it with you once we’ve been able to meet and do an assessment.
It's important to remember that healing is a process, and consistency with your treatment plan - along with any exercises or lifestyle adjustments we recommend- will help you get the best results. We’ll be monitoring your progress closely and adjusting the plan as needed, so we can work together to achieve your goals.
-
Absolutely! You don’t need to be injured or in pain to benefit from chiropractic care, physiotherapy or our coaching services. Think of it as a way to optimize your body’s performance and keep everything working smoothly, even when you feel good. It's all about keeping you strong, flexible, and ready for whatever life throws your way.
We love working with you to optimize your performance and prevent issues in the first place! Reach out and we can chat to decide what will serve you best based on your goals.
-
It depends. We love to work with you to stay as active as possible with recovering from an injury by modifying your current training to support healing. However, there are certain injuries (such as a stress fracture) where you need a period of rest from running. The goal with physiotherapy is to develop a plan to get you back to doing all the activities you enjoy.
-
Absolutely! Our providers are experienced in working with patients throughout pregnancy and postpartum, and treatment is adapted to your stage and comfort level every step of the way, including the use of pregnancy pillows and other supportive accommodations. Whether you're managing pregnancy-related discomfort, preparing your body for delivery, or recovering and rebuilding strength postpartum, we'll make the appropriate adjustments to your care plan so you can keep moving forward safely.
